Retrofit and Compatibility Notice

R-407C is not a simple drop-in replacement for R-22. A retrofit may require complete recovery of the existing refrigerant, conversion to an approved POE lubricant, replacement of filter-driers and seals, system evacuation, control adjustments, leak testing, and new refrigerant labeling. Always follow the original equipment manufacturer’s instructions and an approved retrofit procedure. R-407C is generally not recommended for systems with flooded evaporators.

Existing Equipment and New-System Restrictions

R-407C may be used in compatible equipment and properly engineered retrofit applications where permitted. Federal and state requirements may restrict higher-GWP refrigerants in certain new refrigeration and air-conditioning products or systems. The purchaser and installer are responsible for confirming that the intended application complies with all current requirements.

Certification Requirement

An appropriate EPA Section 608 technician certification, or qualifying employer documentation, is required for purchase. Purchaser documentation may be reviewed before the product is released for shipment.

Safety and Handling

For professional use only. R-407C must be removed from the cylinder and charged from the liquid phase to maintain the correct blend composition. Do not mix it with R-22 or any other refrigerant. Follow all applicable recovery, handling, storage, transportation, and equipment-manufacturer requirements. Intentional venting is prohibited. Review the applicable Safety Data Sheet before use.
